I guess I'll introduce myself too. Well I'm Shane from Manchester,UK and have been listening to music for as long as I can remember, but it wasn't until a few years ago that I really got into music, and since then discovered many fantastic artists the majority of which are really under-appreciated/under-heard, I'm sure I'll be sharing many of the aforementioned artists/bands on here, anyway;
Here we have Japanese musician Haruomi "Harry" Hosono's 1982 album Philharmony, which is just a small (but delicious) taste of the mind of this eclectic genius, the album is mostly made with electronic instruments, mixing ambient, instrumentals and vocal tracks together. It's a bit hard to listen to at first, it was for me anyway, but after a few listens I couldn't stop!
He has become somewhat of a pioneer or electronica with his now legendary band Yellow Magic Orchestra but in fact he started off as a folk rock singer in the band Happy End and it all evolved from there.
The stand out track on this for me has got to be Sports Men, it's a pop masterpiece and imo, if this record doesn't interest you so far, it's worth it just for that one song.
nice, i'll be sure to check a few of your recommendations out.
